Directions To St. Paul AME Church

St. Paul is located in the Central Square area of Cambridge, about equidistant between Harvard Square and MIT. The church is at 37 Bishop Richard Allen Drive, at the intersection of Bishop Richard Allen Drive and Columbia Street. The Christian Life Center (CLC) is at 85 Bishop Richard Allen Drive about one block away, heading toward Prospect Street, just past the Norfolk Street intersection (see map). Local parking is available.

From The Mass Pike:

  • Take the Cambridge-Allston-Brighton exit.
  • At the toll booth look for the sign and exit to Cambridge and Harvard Square. The Guest Suites Hotel on the right on Cambridge Street.
  • Take Cambridge Street across the bridge over the Charles River to Memorial Drive. There will be a Shell gas station on the left and Mobil station on the right as Cambridge Street becomes River Street.
  • Follow River Street past Putnam Ave. all the way across to beyond Massachusetts Avenue (Central Square). After Massachusetts Ave., River Street changes to the name of Prospect Street.
  • Take Prospect Street one block to Bishop Allen Drive. Turn right onto Bishop Allen Drive and go 1 block to the St. Paul Christian Life Center on the left side of the street.
  • The church is located on the left one block further down on the same side of the street, at the corner of Bishop Allen Drive and Columbia Street.

From Harvard Square:

  • Follow Massachusetts Avenue to Central Square.
  • Turn left at the light onto Essex Street, (CPI will be on the left corner).
  • Turn right onto Bishop Allen Drive. The Christian Life Center will be on your left.
  • The church is located on the left one block further down on the same side of the street, at the corner of Bishop Allen Drive and Columbia Street.

From Union Square: (Somerville)

  • Turn left at the light (St. Joseph's Church will be on the left).
  • After crossing over the bridge, stay straight onto Webster Street.
  • After the next light (Cambridge Street), webster Avenue turns into Columbia Street.
  • After the third light on Columbia, you will reach a blinking yellow light; this is the intersection of Columbia Street and Bishop Richard Allen Drive. The church is on the corner on the right.
  • The Christian Life Center is one block further down Bishop Allen Drive on the right, just past the Norfolk Street intersection.

From Watertown:

  • Follow Arsenal Street toward the river.
  • When Arsenal Street turns into Western Avenue, stay on Western.
  • Follow Western Avenue to the right just before the river and get into the left lane.
  • Make a left at light onto River Street and cross the bridge over the river.
  • Follow River Street into Central Square and cross Massachusetts Avenue.
  • At the next light, turn right onto Bishop Richard Allen Drive.
  • The Christian Life Center is one block down the street on the left.
  • The church is located on the left one block further down on the same side of the street, at the corner of Bishop Allen Drive and Columbia Street.

From Route 2:

  • Follow the signs for Fresh Pond Parkway.
  • Bear left onto Memorial Drive.
  • Turn left onto River Street, which is a one-way street heading away from the river.
  • Follow River Street past Putnam Ave. all the way across to beyond Massachusetts Avenue (Central Square). After Massachusetts Ave., River Street changes to the name of Prospect Street.
  • Take Prospect Street one block to Bishop Allen Drive. Turn right onto Bishop Allen Drive and go 1 block to the St. Paul Christian Life Center on the left side of the street.
  • The church is located on the left one block further down on the same side of the street, at the corner of Bishop Drive and Columbia Street.

From Route 93 Southbound:

  • Take Exit 30 (Mystic Avenue).
  • Turn left onto Mystic Avenue.
  • Bear right onto Route 28 South.
  • At the third light, staying in the right lane, bear left, then bear right onto the exit for Washington Street.
  • Turn right onto Washington Street, staying in the left lane.
  • At next light, bear right.
  • At the following light, turn left onto Webster Avenue.
  • Stay on Webster, which turns into Columbia Street after crossing Cambridge Street.
  • After the third light on Columbia, you will reach a blinking yellow light; this is the intersection of Columbia Street and Bishop Richard Allen Drive. The church is on the corner on the right.
  • The Christian Life Center is one block further down Bishop Allen Drive on the right, just past the Norfolk Street intersection.

From Route 93 Northbound:

  • Take Cambridge/Somerville exit.
  • Follow ramp around and to the left onto Storrow Drive.
  • Exit Storrow Drive at Kendall Square exit.
  • Bear right at end of ramp and cross river (Longfellow Bridge).
  • Stay on Main Street.
  • Turn right onto Bishop Richard Allen Drive (after passing Cherry Street).
  • Next intersection (Columbia Street) is a blinking light; the church is on the corner on the right.
  • The Christian Life Center is one block further down Bishop Allen Drive on the right, just past the Norfolk Street intersection.
